Our services cover all age ranges but we particularly specialise in caring for teenagers.
We have the largest teenage unit in the country offering outstanding facilities and a team of specially trained staff.
We work very closely with Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children treating patients between the ages of 0-12.
We are a designated primary treatment centre for children and young people diagnosed with a number of different cancers and blood disorders.
We have the largest Teenage Cancer Trust Unit in the country.
We operate as a unified cancer centre together with Great Ormond Street and collectively form the largest children and young people’s oncology centre in Europe.
We have a number of specialist services for children and young people, including diabetes, endocrinology, specialist adolescent services and urology.
We provide emergency care via our accident & emergency department for all ages. We also provide a full range of non-urgent general services, which include some specialist clinics such as asthma, allergy and epilepsy.
Services for children and young people are provided at University College Hospital (UCH) in central London. This outstanding facility, built five years ago, offers a modern, bright environment equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. The children and young people’s wards are located on the 11th and 12th floors of the hospital tower offering spectacular views of central London. Younger children (up to 12 years of age) stay on the 11th floor. Young people (13 -19 years of age) stay on the 12th floor.
Our service is staffed by a team of specially trained health professionals with a wealth of experience of caring for children and young people.
The clinical service is complemented by exceptional research carried out by our staff in collaboration with the University (UCL) and Institute of Child Health.
